At Anseris, we’re always pushing the boundaries of what Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) can do. Whether through powerful component libraries, global architectures, or integrations with third-party systems, we’ve helped global clients build scalable and innovative digital experiences. Now, we’re excited to explore the next frontier: Adobe App Builder.

What Is Adobe App Builder?

Adobe App Builder is a serverless, extensible application framework designed to build cloud-native apps and microservices that deeply integrate with Adobe Experience Cloud products — including AEM.

It provides a complete toolkit to:

  • Create custom middleware to connect external systems (CRM, DAM, commerce, etc.).

  • Extend core AEM capabilities with serverless functions (Adobe I/O Runtime).

  • Build custom user interfaces using React Spectrum and integrate them directly into the AEM authoring experience.

  • Leverage real-time events through Adobe I/O Events for reactive, event-driven workflows.

All of this, with full security and scalability handled by Adobe’s infrastructure — no server maintenance required.

What Can You Build?

Here are a few examples of what developers are building with App Builder today:

  • Image search and licensing workflows with Adobe Stock.

  • On-demand generation of marketing assets using Photoshop APIs.

  • Secure integrations with external platforms like Azure Service Bus or Bit.ly via rate-limited queues.

  • Custom asset processors that enrich or transform AEM assets using headless APIs.

  • Micro frontends that enhance the author UI, including personalized dashboards and editorial workflows.

App Builder provides hooks and APIs to bring together the best of AEM, Adobe Experience Cloud, and any external service you rely on.

Why Does This Matter?

Most AEM implementations involve some level of customization — but custom code often lives inside the AEM runtime itself. With App Builder, you can offload this logic into scalable, decoupled services, reducing upgrade complexity and improving system performance.

It’s the modern way to build AEM extensions: loosely coupled, event-driven, cloud-native, and integrated by design.

Meet Us in San Francisco – May 21st

We’re excited to announce that Anseris will be present at a partner event in San Francisco on May 21st, where we’ll be discussing our upcoming involvement with Adobe App Builder.

While we’re already known for our enterprise-level AEM solutions, this marks the beginning of a new chapter. In the coming months, we’ll be delivering purpose-built apps using App Builder — from middleware connectors to content automation tools and smart authoring UIs.

If you’re attending the event or based in the Bay Area, come meet us! We’d love to discuss how App Builder can unlock new potential for your digital experience projects.
